There have been many initiatives and groups over the years to try to tackle the issues around the A51. Now, the objective is the same, but with a clear strategy to bring about positive change throughout the communities along the road.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE GROUP

The groups main objective is to see the safety and traffic volume (especially HGV’s) through the little villages be improved. There are many options and one of the first objectives by the group is to agree on what is needed. From there, the issue needs bringing to a wider audience and taken up with the councils.

HOW

  1. Highlight the Issue – Group meetings, Petitions, Discussing Solutions and engaging with relevant groups and authorities.
  2. Engage the Cheshire Councils with the information and data gathered to highlight the issue
  3. Agreement with a Sponsor – A Sponsor is somebody from a senior leadership position within either a council or highways authority body.
  4. Organise professianal traffic surveys – With the help of a sponsor and any other relevant bodies
  5. Come to a solution with all involved parties
